"Freemasonry conceals its secrets from all except the Adepts and Sages, or the Elect, and uses false explanations and misinterpretations of its symbols to mislead those who deserve only to be misled; to conceal the Truth, which it calls Light, from them, and to draw them away from it. Truth is not for those who are unworthy or unable to receive it, or would pervert it."

Whatever you have been told "officially" about the meanings of Pagan symbols is, by Pike's own words, completely untrue!

The low level Masons, by Pike's own admission, unless you are in the class of "Adepts, Sages and/or Elect", do not know what the symbols actually mean.

DEFINITIONS:
Adept: is an individual identified as having attained a specific level of knowledge, skill, or aptitude in doctrines relevant to a particular author or organization.

Sage: is any wise teacher, someone who imparts wisdoms or the perennial philosophy, including spiritual teachers and teachers of mysticism

Perennial philosophy is the notion of the universal recurrence of philosophical insight independent of epoch or culture, including universal truths on the nature of reality, humanity or conciousness
Simply put: "Perennial philosophy" means  Pagan New Age doctrine

Elect: Someone s-elected by vote for an office or for membership.

They know what they have been told and they know how to comminicate with the signs and symbols but the deepess knowledge of the whole aspect of Freemasonry is reserved for only the highest Masonic grades.
It would otherwise be impossible to maintain, as the shock of such dire knowledge could cause anyone learning it to flee from them and warn others.  That would result in the break down of Freemasonrys great fortress of secrecy.
The lower grade masons are "eased in gently" and continually analysed for their "suitability" to attain further and further knowledge
Some of them at least should have had enough sense to question in their own mind why it is that they do not seem to be getting anywhere higher than they are.

Hera - aka "The Queen of Heaven"
Selin - aka: "The moon"
Plus other "Greek gods".
